Hub Face and Spring Center are critical parameters for trailer axles.

*Hub Face (HF): Distance from the outside face of one hub to the outside face of the other hub. This determines overall axle width.

*Spring Center (SC): Distance between the centers of the two spring seats. This determines where the axle mounts to the trailer frame.

*General Rule: Spring center is typically 12" to 16" narrower than the hub face (6"–8" per side) to allow space for tires, brakes, and fenders.
