If you are towing a trailer with electric brakes that weighs over 2 000kg (4 409lbs) it's a legal requirement to have a break away system. The break away system for trailers mounts to the trailer and in case of uncoupling the trailer break away system will activate electric brakes and safely stop the trailer. This break away system for trailers for use on 1 or 2 axle caravans and trailers equipped with electric brakes can activate trailer brakes upon separation from vehicle. The trailer break away system features a 12V 5Ah battery with built in battery charger that can be charged from tow vehicle or from house battery of trailer. It's important for you to note that anytime the pin is removed from the switch the battery life will begin to deplete so always be sure your battery is fully charged before each tow. This break away system for trailers is designed with a push to test button so you can easily know the level of charge of the battery.
